March 8: Modeling exhibits for the Smithsonian Institution
Lora Moran-Collins, co-founder and resident SoCo Artist will be presenting her work as a model maker/ sculptor for the Smithsonian during her 35 year career. Doors open at 2:00 and presentation will begin at 2:30. This, as all Salon Events, is free!
April 19: The Writers Perspective
Arts Lab Writer-in-Residence and Videographer, Terese Schlachter, will share her tips and process.
January 26: Clay on the Bay
Sculptor and Lab co-founder, Elizabeth Kendall will give a brief introduction to the plans for the Lab clay studio, share some images and talk about different ceramic forms and glaze surfaces, and lead a fun hands-on tile decoration activity.
Those present will also be invited to share what they would like to see the Lab offer, in the way of different ceramic classes or presentations for example, or topics or classes in any other artistic media that they are interested in.
Participants will also have an opportunity to tour the Lab space, visit with the resident artists and engage with them about their work and creativity in general. As an added bonus, guests will also be able to catch the show “12 by 12 in Twelve” a Members’ and Guests’ Art Show and Sale of two dimensional works that are no larger than 12” by 12”. Works in other media are also on an intimate scale.
